Am I the only one who adds reps into my metcon WODs because I don’t believe that I’m this fast or strong?
Whenever I rise to the top of the pack in a WOD, I always assume that I’ve miscounted or misunderstood the standards, so I throw in a few extra reps.
And today… I PRd on my deadlift. But then I counted the weight on my bar about 5 times with a calculator before I finally gave myself credit for it. WTF?
I guess I’m just used to being slow & weak. But it’s finally starting to hit me… Thanks to Crossfit, I’ve become an athlete.

No, it won’t make you huge (if you don’t want it to).
No, you won’t be injured all the time (unless you’re training with an unqualified coach at a questionable Box).
No, it’s not a “man” thing (she obviously hasn’t seen the Thrustr tumblr).
So I tell my Mom that I’m craving chicken salad and she makes it from scratch—chicken off the bone, homemade mayo, etc— the works!!! Yumz.
The Paleo lifestyle is getting BIG and so is the market for ‘’Paleo” convenience foods and snacks. There are paleo bars, paleo treats, paleo cookies, paleo granola – you name it. Now granted, I wasn’t around to know for sure but I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Paleolithic man did not have the luxury of rolling into 7-11 and grabbing a quick snack. We’ve got it easy compared to our ancestors and while, for the most part, that’s a good thing it can lead to some major problems.

I just wanted to check in and say that I’ve lost 11lbs (8 of which was holiday weight) since the end of the gluttonous, non-paleo, holiday season that lies between Nov25th and Dec25th— just by eating paleo & doing crossfit. Primal pat on the back! Also, there’s a month-long, box-wide, paleo challenge starting up tomorrow, which means I’ll be in foodie mode once again, posting up pics and recipes galore! :)

The cavegirl in me completely geeked out when the animal shelter sent my new dog home with a grain-free/chicken/duck/turkey dog food sample. Well done, city of Los Angeles— My pup’s paleo from the start!

Now… If only I could find some doggie barbells and make him into a crossfitter, too. ;)

Just thought I’d share the wealth…
I’ve tried everything— moisturizing, tea bag soak, Neosporin, etc… But the BEST thing for crossfit hand-rips seems to be good, old fashioned, A&D (yup, the diaper rash stuff). It makes the skin layers heal faster and softens the skin around the tear.
